Schaller reverse zebra

I did some trading around back in the mid 80's and ended up with a Schaller out of a '85 Kramer Baretta. I had it in my Kramer for years and years. The guitar now belongs to my son, however although he is very involved in many areas of music (school orchestra, jazz band, writing music on the computer) he doesn't have any interest in guitar tone or what electronics are in his instrument. I asked him if I could swap him P'ups and he didn't care. I put an Epiphone bridge in his Kramer and here's what I ended up with. A mid 80's reverse zebra. Curious what kind of tone this would bring me in one of my LP's Should I try it out? Or maybe it's desirable enough to trade for a JB? Opinions are wanted and appreciated.

Re: Schaller reverse zebra

I have a Custom Order Kramer Baretta from '84 or '85. Unfortunately, a previous owner replaced the Schaller Golden 50 with what I think is a DiMarzio X2N. I would like to put a Schaller back in if I can find one.
As far as using it in an LP, as far as I know it was designed to have similar output to an old PAF so I imagine it would sound pretty good. I have JBs in a '93 Hamer Diablo, they sound good too.

I use Schaller Golden 50's for a lot of my guitars. They are my go to pickup. Think a very bright 59. If you think of Van Halen's "Humans Being," you can get that sort of sound (with the use of pedals) from them. I love their neck pickups. I mainly play out of the neck, so they are basically what I play most of the time. I think you will really like it. It is vintage, but can handle gain really well.
