The Schaller is tonally warmer, and a bit less responsive, the OFR is steelier and "easier to whammy".... both of these are just nuances though, neither way is it a huge difference.
I use those 2 systems and Jackson JT-6 trems more or less exclusively
I already have a bright sounding guitar with DD pickups, i am mainly looking for a system which is 60% tone 40% Reliability and functionality, if they're both of equal quallty would you recommend the schaller for tonal reasons.
Again, the difference in tone and response isn´t huge...If i were you I´d try to play both to see which one I prefer the bar on.... BUt if it´s going in the RG , The OFR will give you less problems with the installation. The mounting distance, with regards to the scale,of an OFR, Edge or TRS longer than that of hte Schaller, the Schaller may not intonate correctly. And you´ll definitely want to swap the Ibanez bushings and posts out for the OFR ones
