I checked the german site, and they say that the delivery date for the hellraiser c1 fr is unknown..... :blackeye:

right know I 'm being really attracted to the ltd mh 1000 although the edwards mh also looked nice

Hey, that's a whole other deal, the MH 1000 is on the verge of being or not an ESP. And that Edwards looked really sweet, if you can get it that is.

Don't know about prices though.

Anyway, you'd better contact the dealer directly and ask them whether they can send one to you, for how much and when they'll be able to. That way you'll know if you find that still to be an option.

terrible, i had an sz720 that was thin, harsh, and felt like a low rent guitar to play. I have no idea how they ever got a following. I bought one off the internet without playing it first. Dumb mistake, changed pickups and everything ugh.

these will appeal/ repel; depends on the individual playing them. i own 2 Ibanez SZ guitars.

the only reason why i recommend the Edwards model- IMO they're above what LTD has to offer.

I just discovered a brand called LAG... anyone know something about the arcane model? (they have a bolt on neck en passive emg's.... if I buy it a propably have to change them....) would the bolt on neck be a disadvantage?

The only disadvantage to a bolt on is the heel where the neck and body meet. It might impede your hand movement on the upper frets. Other than that, its all about preference and tonal qualities. I'm not 100% on this but I've heard that bolt on neck joint doesn't transfer low end frequencies as well as other joints. In other words you get a "strat" sound.

They all have their quirks. Other joints are 'set neck' which are found in most SG's and les pauls. A couple companies use 'neck thru' but I don't know much about the tonal qualities. ESP will use something called a 'set thru' neck joint on some of their guitars. From what I understand that joint combines the advantages of all the other ones.

Here you'll find everything you'll ever want to know about the Bolt-on necks as well as for every other neck joint (Set-in - Neck-thru body - Set-thru).

Each and every one of them have differences both in tone and playing character, none being clearly superior to another for everything.

I 've read something about a bolt in neck, now I was a little confused since lag describes his neck joint in a very strange way (the am 1000 model is bolt on, but has a titanium reinforcement rail for neck-body alignment) Is that a bolt in neck or am I wrong?

A bolt in neck is just that!

The neck is inserted in a slot-like way but instead of being glued in place it's bolted, however, since the heel is buried in the body it's far less intrusive with your playing. As a matter of fact if a set-thru (A.K.A. Deep-Set Neck) is not an option (and if you want a Floyd Rose then it isn't from a manufacturer's point of view) then the Bolt-In neck along with the Neck-Thru build are the best ways to go. However you'll really have to make sure that the joint is really tight, to quote an article found HERE: "For this to work properly it is imperative that the neck joint be super tight. If you can slip a dollar bill into the crack on either side of the neck you have defeated the whole concept."

If I could find a guitar I liked with a Bolt-in neck I'd probably go for it (the other option being Neck-Thru but the only neck-thru guitar I ever played was an Ibanez RGT42DX that sounded crappy, but then again it had really crappy pus to begin with so... dunno...)

BTW, could you give me a link to their site so that I can look at them myself? (preferably in English please!)

The HR comes with an OFR but I like the MH400 better even taking that into consideration.

Why I like the MH: maple neck, headstock, binding, inlays, 2-knobs. The horn shape is also slightly different and the schecters are fatter, I like ESP's design better, just a "feel" thing, you know.

Plus it seems every Schecter I play doesn't sound the greatest while every ESP I've played has sounded awesome, but your experience may be different. I think Schecter goes for flash while ESP goes for subtance, at least IMO, LTDs always seem to have fewer-piece bodies than Schecters do, not really sure what that does to vibrations and such but the aesthetics are uglier.

Funny - I've had the EXACT opposite experiences. All 5 of the Schecters I've owned have absolutely stomped on the 3 ESP's I've had, in every way, shape, and form.

But, your wetness for ESP makes you just a bit biased .

Actually I never said that was a bolt-in neck!
Bolt-in necks are pretty rare in fact!
EDIT: Oh, I just realized what confused you:"A bolt in neck is just that!" means the Bolt-in neck is exactly what the name implies... Sorry for the mix-up! However...
What you wrote only showed the method by which they ensured neck angle and stability, not the joint itself!
I asked you for a link to check that myself!

Anyway, I checked the link you gave me, it clearly said Bolt-On neck, however I thought I'd better visit the original French site...

Checked the picture and it appears that it either is a bolt in or a Bolt-on with so much buried a heel that it won't make a difference to you...
(Others are free to assist in the matter...)
Price seems ok since it has DiMarzo pus, I really like the Tone Zone, don't know about the Norton though, however the woods seem good.

All in all a good guitar, although somewhat costly.
I really like the Antique Blue and Black finishes!
But remember, if you buy it no matter how amazing it'll be it will have next to nothing in resale value so only buy it if you plan to keep it!!!

how come you think it has no resale value? although if I 'm buying this, I 'll keep it, since I hate guitar swaps. if I buy a guitar it has to be really good (nearly perfect) that's why I ask so many questions about it before I buy it :laugh2:

Really no problem, I also want to buy a 2nd guitar for keeps so I totally understand you!

It won't have a good resale value because it's not a recognizable brand...

If someone buys a GOOD 2nd hand Fender or Gibson or Jackson they buy "Aged Instruments" so they either buy it at a price very closer to its' original price or, if they're really good and of "a good year", they even buy it for more than the original price!

However, when it comes to not as recognized (yet quality) brands then the guitar is simply "second hand" and thus it goes for far less...

If you plan to buy for keeps though then that shouldn't bother you.

Concerning the neck, I don't see it as bummer, the bolt-on's disadvantage is the thick heel making it hard to play on the higher frets, however, if the heel is very thin, or completely buried in the body like with this guitar then you shouldn't have a problem at all!

The basic thing though is for you to play it yourself and see if it fits your hand...

I was looking through all the posts and saw the Edwards guitar, where can I find a good link and information on these? Also, what is the story and quality on Edwards,. do they compare to Gibson and ESP or are they just knockoffs?
Then I was reading a post in the guitar section and there one about posting your Les Paul Pics, there is a Burney John Sykes Model ( "I've got to get one of those") there that looks unbelievable. What the Hell is that?

Come on gang lets talk about these Brands, GOOD OR BAD? Are they worth buying and where do I get either?

I forgot to mention, I just ordered a Schecter Hellraiser C-1 FR Cherry Quilt-Top from AMS, they won't be available until 1/30/07 but a placed my order. The reason I decided to get this guitar was because of the features (EMG's, Original FR, Solid Mahagony with a Quilted Maple Top (Not Venere) and decent Grover tuners (I will install Sperzels). But I am also sending back an ESP LTD EC1000 ASB with Duncans JB/59 and some real good features. I just didn't like the way it felt, the neck and body, everything about it felt weird. It also had a bad buzz at the 1st and 2nd frets and it just gave a bad taste, to bad I have been dying for one for along time and then BAM it was a disappiontment, bummer. Don't get me wrong, I played one about 2 years ago, well it was a Eclipse (KH) model, I think the KH602?, so I thought this one was closest to my price range but it wasn't, no comparision.

Here's what another guy said about Edwards at another forum HERE:
"For those who don't know, Edwards is ESP's mass production line of guitars. (also the same line they use for making OEM guitars for other companies). The Ibanez equivalent for all of the ESP lines would be:

Grass Roots = Ibanez (korean made)
Edwards = Ibanez Prestige (both mass manufactured)
ESP = Ibanez J-Custom (made in small batches, ESP's are actually built to order and not premade)
ESP Custom = Ibanez LACS (not quite the same since you need to be endorsed by Ibanez to get a LACS guitar but you can get pretty much any custom guitar you want made)"

You noticed sth? No LTD! Why? Because Edwards (as I suspect Grass Roots as well) is the mass manufactured line for Japan only!

Thus, unless you can order it yourself from there or, get one from e-Bay you won't be able to buy one outside Japan...

About the Burney John Sykes Model, sorry but I'm not a big fan on Les Paul like guitars so I can't help you there...

Oh man, I've had my eye on that C-1 Hellraser FR for the longest time!
Too bad it has Quilted Maple (I prefer Flamed Maple)...
BTW, do you know what kind of neck joint it has? It says Set Neck but what kind of Set-Neck, the 5 inches one or a deeper, 8 inches or more...
I'm really curious to know...

Anyway, tell me how it plays once you get it!

Yeah i don't like the EC or eclipse guitars either. And they ALL have that 1-4th fret buzz! I couldn't get it out of my ec-400!

LTD needs to release some guitars WITHOUT maple necks, i do not like the sound of mahogany body maple neck guitars, there is something about that combination that sounds fuzzy and harsh. Schecter on the other hand only has mahogany body/mahogany necks.

Actually Schecter has many guitars with maple necks. I wish LTD would offer ebony or maple fretboards! I do miss my maple fretboarded strat. So twangy! But alas she wasn't kind on the hands.

Actually he meant he disliked the Maple neck on Mahogany body combination, but yeah, Schecter does have several models with Maple neck on Mahogany body, the Demon, C-1, Revenger and Synyster Standard (all FRs) to name some.

And yeah, I wish Schecter made more models with a Maple fretboard, I do love the feeling of Maple on my fingetips much more than Rosewood but yeah, my Strat isn't that kind on the hands either...
