Plus Grover tuners instead of Ibanez, and Duncan Designed pickups instead of Ibanez pickups.

Uh, I think the C1 classic has a JB/Jazz combo? And the SZ has Duncan/IBZ?

Anyway, since the C1 Classic is maple veneer... does that mean everything else is Mahogany?

Yes, the C-1 Classic has the JB/Jazz but most of the C Series guitars have Duncan Designed. Also, most of the Ibanez SZ series have Ibanez pickups. With the C-1 Classic, it's a maple and walnut neck-thru design with mahogany wings.

the hellraiser is beautiful and plays great.. but if you're into passive pickups the ESP MH-1000 is pretty much the same thing except with Seymour Duncan JB/59 setup, stop-tail, and sperzels.. it's probably a veneer too but I've played 2 and both veneers were very beautiful quilted and they played like none other (perfect action w/ no string buzz).. I'd get it over the C-1 classic basically because it doesn't have that hideous fretboard inlay (what's Schecter thinking??)

Honestly, I really miss my old Classic right now . It played really really nicely, and had a great sound.

i own a schecter c-1 xxx and the other guitarist in my band has an sz520 and while both guitars are great i like my schecter overall better.

however i'd take one of these in a second and am thinking about picking one up in the near future.

I still wish they change those stock switches. But I love those pickup rings

isn`t this SZ neckthrough more sounding like a maple than a mahogany guitar?

i`v been taught that the wood in which pickups are seated is affecting the tone the most.
