Schecter C1 plus scale length

My schecter c1 plus is rather old compared to the newer models, I bought it used back in 2005, didn't have the coil split like the newer ones. Anyway, I always believed that it is a 24.75 scale because that is how they make them now, but look at the pic that I attached. Aren't those humbuckers awfully close to each other? Doesn't that fretboard look longer than his brothers'?

I'm not at home right now or I would just measure it. So basically I just noticed this now and also have had problems with the neck pickup being a little too bright and sounding a little more like the middle position instead of the normal deep neck sweetness that you usually get with a 24.75. So what I'm asking here is am I crazy, or is that a longer-than-24.75 scale on my schecter? 25.5?

I should probably swap neck buckers with my washburn, air norton in the schecter and 59 in the washburn. What do you think? Yeah I know I'm a jackass for starting this thread, but I don't want to wait to get home and measure it, I want to **** around on a forum and bother people for information. That's why it's here right?

I'm pretty sure they are 25.5. In fact I saw the info somewhere on the net

They are most definitely 24.75, and the humbuckers are close to each other because there are 24 frets on the guitar.

The brighter neck tone is because the pickup is moved closer to the bridge to make room for the frets; it has very little, if anything, to do with the scale length.

Got it, thanks, it was a matter of me not understanding what scale length is. I definitely will consider a pickup swap, I always thought I was just oddly sensitive to bright neck humbuckers, but a 59 in a 22 fret guitar would clearly sound much different.

I just measured my C-7 and my Blackjack and they are both 25 3/4". My Blackjack also appears to have a neck through design rather than a set neck. Anyone else ever come across one like this?

Your Blackjack may just have a sculpted heel at the neck joint, giving more of a neck-through feel to a set neck. It depends on the model, but I've played a few of the newer ones, and made that same mistake myself.

22 fretters that have the neck pickup jammed right up to the fretboard have that deep, sweet sound.

24 fretters have a brighter, less complex, less sweet sound.


That has been my experience on both 24.75" and 25.5" scale lengths.

That's what I thought at first, but when I had the neck pickup out to replace the mounting ring which was broken I took a look in the pocket and could see a block of wood running through the center of the guitar that looked like it was part and parcel of the neck itself. This guitar has far better harmonics and natural sustain, even unamplified, than any other set neck guitar I have ever played, which is part of what set me to wondering about it in the first place. I've tried to look up specs for it based on the model and serial number, but found very little specific info.
