Schecter Diamond Series?

on the march

Hi,

I have a chance to buy one these brand-new with a hardshell case for $250:

I just got an Epi Gothic Flying V, but I'd also like a Floyd-equipped guitar and the price is right. I'd probably swap the pups, but my concern is the Floyd copy. I've heard bad stories about "licensed copies" with tuning problems, etc.

If I was to block the trem for dive-bombing only, do you think that would help with tuning stability? I'm more of a fixed bridge player, so I probably wouldn't use the trem that often anyways.

Thanks

I bought it on my lunch hour and already set it up with some fresh DR Hi-Beams :smokin:

you're right about the awesome playability, but I don't like the passive EMGs. I'm gonna leave the Floyd floating for now and see how the tuning holds up. keeping my balls crossed...

The HZ's do suck but I would HIGHLY suggest an EMG 85 in the bridge and a single coil in the neck. You won't believe the sounds you'll get.

That's a great deal - snag it and swap the pickups and trem out, and you have a killer axe for under $500.

If it's a dark guitar I'd go with an 81 in the bridge. 85 sounds strange to me in a dark guitar.
