Schecter guitars, best under $600.00 US?

I've been looking to get a Tele shaped guitar with a humbucker in the bridge and someone here mentioned the PT Blackjack, I was looking at the J5 Mexican Fender. Do Schecters stack up against the Mexican Tele's? Is there another option in that price range?

Schecters most definitely stack up against MIM Fenders, if not come out on top.

IMO, Schecters stack up against American Fenders. But the Blackjack versus the J5 is a no brainer, Blackjack all the way.

What makes you say no brainer? I liked the J5 but haven't played a Blackjack yet.

Play one and you'll understand. This coming from a 006 schecter player. Stock USA duncans. Grover tuners. Body binding. Jet black finish. Comfortable neck, awesome contours.

Just a great feeling/playing axe and best of all it's not so expensive that you wouldnt want to customize it further. They've also got as good a resale value as Mexican Fenders. you cant go wrong.

If you need anymore praise with Schecters I just got an S-1 standard for christmas. It's great in everyway. We got it for like $368 US. It has Duncan Design, Push-pull coil tap, 3 way switch, Grover tuners in a mother of pearl casing, and mother of pearl inlays. It costed less than an Epi G-400 and it plays a hell of a lot better. Def. try out Schecters, their great fro the price, nothing beats them.

The PT Blackjack is also an archtop, the regular PTs aren't...same with the S-1, it's a flat top and the Elite is an archtop.

What exactly does an archtop do to the tone of a guitar? I don't know.

Check out the Bombergirl Tele. Oh my God, what a nice guitar.

The Schecter C-1 Elite is the best feeling guitar I have ever picked up. So, then I had to get it for Christmas, and did. Only drawback with this model is the pups are DD, not true SD, so I have a pup swap in my future.

But the guitar is truly amazing.

I have an older Scheter PT Elite. Great guitar. The Schecter's are better build thant he MIM Tele's to me. They are a bit harder to find necks na dsuch for if you want ot mod, but with an electronics upgrade they are great guitars.
