Schecter Shopping...

After a heathly amout of hearing good things, i've decided i'm in the market for a schecter.

I narrowed it down to two guitars, but I can't seem to decide, so any help would be apreciated.

The two in question are the C-1 A/E and the C/SH-1. I will be buying used off ebay, if that makes a difference.

thanks for the help.

Re: Schecter Shopping...

IMO, the A/E is better for players who use cleanish sounds more. If you want it for rock, get a solid body. A/E's tend to have a looser bottom end. My favorites, besides US models, are the C-1 Elites, since they have a satin finished maple top, and look a bit more traditional than some.

Re: Schecter Shopping...

My friend has the A/E one and it works perfectly fine for bein a hollowbody, he also has EMG's in his. I have a schecter Damien because I play basswood guitars and it's the best guitar I've played yet, I liked it a lot more than any C series guitars but I would suggest not going with A/E if ur a pure tone snob like me.

Re: Schecter Shopping...

My buddy has an A/E with Phat Cats in it and it screams, moans and even does your laundry. It can do a decent amount gain without going microphobic and it obviously will do cleans wonderfuly. The Schecter line is good quality all around plus great prices.

ahhh... Schecters are great guitars.... Someday I'd like to get one.... Gotta get me a Taylor first though.... hehe :)

Re: Schecter Shopping...

I was comparing those two also. I liked the CSH-1 because it has through body stringing and I would never use the piezo on the A/E

Re: Schecter Shopping...

get a 006! I've got one, they're so much more comfortable than a C series instrument, they're more unique, and the access to the upper frets is UNBELIEVABLE! I get down to the 24th fret with room to spare... I can tap all the way up and down the board on mine. Look into the 006 blackjack... comes stock with duncans!

Re: Schecter Shopping...

Thanks for the help everyone, lots of things to look into and to think about.

and Xeromus, I have the same feeling about the string through, but I would probobly use the peizo mixed with the regular if not the peizo by itslef. If only they did the A/E string though I would own one by now.
