schecter tempest

Re: schecter tempest

I owned one, briefly. Despite the fact that I re-sold it quickly, I think they great guitars. Pretty much a Les Paul, except a bit different in body style and knob layout.

Cool looks + well built + a little different from everybody's Les Paul = awesome guitar

You'll most likely want to upgrade the pups. The Duncan Designs are hit or miss.

Re: schecter tempest

yeah im goin for that slash tone on the use your illusion tour dvd. sounds so big and sweet. my bc rich aint cuttin it. i havent played a les paul that i can say i liked, and they get really expensive too, so i decided to check out the tempest. im definently swappin some alnico pro II's in that baby for the sexiest tone in the world. thanks man.

Re: schecter tempest

Another Schecter to look at is the S-1 Elite. Schecters are pretty decent guitars, especially for the money. The Tempest and the S-1 are my two favs.

Re: schecter tempest

I have one as well. Its my main slide guitar. I bought mine without pickups and it currently has a set of original 1952 P90's from a LP in it. Soon to be replaced with a set of Antiquity P90's. It really is a nice guitar, good quality Mahogny, maple top (mine looks like a goldtop). It has all tone pro bridge and tailpiece and I am pretty certain it has grover tuners in it. I think the original PUPs were EMG P90's. I would buy it if you can get it for the right price.
