Scored a Duncan Pickup Booster...can't wait!!!

Can't wait to get this little bad boy! I've wanted one for ages and until now have been using a ts808 type distortion pedal for a solo boost, not a lot of boost in it though. Been looking forward to getting one of these though, I was just waiting for one to pop up on ebay.

Also I should be getting my Blackback cabinet delivered tomorrow sometime, just sold my Mesa 50cal+ combo and will be buying a super sweet Warmoth that I've been eyeing off for a while :D

There's some fun gear time coming up

Heya Angus,
Didja get that pedal yet? Just curious on your thoughts on it. BTW - sweet amp setup you have (from another post).

Haha thanks for the amp setup compliment...that picture is only two days old and it's already void as I just sold my 50cal and am selling the ENGL rig as soon as I find a buyer...to make way for another beauty :D

Haven't got the pickup booster yet, although I have paid for it so now it's just a matter of waiting. Hopefully it should come within the week. Just curious if you use yours before of after a wah pedal? Because I know it needs to be first in line to work properly with the pickups but if I remember correctly, wah pedals don't like having things in front of them...?

I'm curious how that pedal would work with Franklin. I like to set him on the edge of breaking up, and a boost just might push it over the edge. That would not be a bad thing.

I actually use the pedal AFTER most of my pedals. I'm using it strictly for gain boost for shredding scenarios. The Resonance feature is, indeed, quite awesome, but live I use a wireless (cannot use one with the Resonance feature of this pedal) and cannot take advantage of itl That being said, for a straight out gain boost, it's awesome! Very flat. Flattest I've seen, in fact. 6 to 25 dB gain boost. Pure! Clean!!! Since I'm not going for the single-to-humbucker thing, setting up the pedal AFTER the wah and SD-1 honestly rules. It's the best spot in my chain for it (and I've spent hours upon hours in each chain position), and it shines! I already know you will love yours.

One thing, though. Upon first plugin of this thing, experiment with the resonance switch (be sure it's the FIRST pedal in line after your guitar, even before your tuner or whatever - it really does what Duncan claims! I dunno how they did it but, dayam!!!!!!!! It works! Something with Pickup inductance. Who cares? What an amazing pedal!

Just curious...what is Franklin?

I wonder how it would stack up to my DOD Bi-fet pedal. It's basically a perfectly clean and flat boost that has a slight treble increase if you want it. You can dial out the treble increase if you want with the tone knob for a perfectly flat increase if that is your desire. It has gobs of boost too. I don't know how many DB's but it's huge and you have a knob to adjust just how much boost you'd like (it has more than I think I could use honestly and it's perfectly quiet). Very nice and incredibly under-rated pedal. Got mine in horrible cosmetic but 100% functional condition for $25. No resonance switch, but I don't really have a need for that personally.
