The I'd really become uppity and pretentious. :D

On one hand, I like the basic idea of an electronics forum, but on the other hand, I like the basic simplicity of this forum. I've seen forums that cover a lot less ground than we do here, and have twenty or more sub-catagories. This forum is layed out just about perfect. We have "pups", guitars, amps & pedals, music discussion, and "everything else".

Also, I'd be afraid that newbies might be confused as to where to post a question. If you wanted to know how to wire a pickup in parallel, would that be pickups or electronics?

I could go either way on this, but I'd probably lean towards keeping it as it is.

I wasn't being serious, Artie. :D I just notice how many of the guys ask you for advice with that stuff, so I decided to joke about it. I do agree, though. We should keep it as is. Maybe add a music discussion forum, as Jeff suggested, but that'd be all.

Re: Scott_F Proposal for new forum category

Personally I don't think it'd be a good idea; firstly there's not really an abundance of threads in the amplifier central board, and secondly a lot of people probably pick up electronic info from threads here even though they're not specifically looking for it. That factor might disappear if all the good info was isolated.

Re: Scott_F Proposal for new forum category

Is it worth trying for a few weeks/months?

Is it a lot of work to create a new category? (I have no idea as to how forums are changed/programmed)

Thanks again for your comments to date.
