Screamin Demon in a Ibanez Artist????

My buddy is thinking of changing his bridge pup in a '78 Ibanez Artist. His main axe is a Wolfgang and he wants a similar tone. He's playing this through a Marshall JMP1 preamp and a Mesa 5050 Poweramp. Not sure on the wood of the Artist? Any suggesstions? Full Shred?

I would do something more PAF-ish or Distortion pickup-like, not a Demon.
