Screamin Demon (neck) + ???

(I supposedly posted this yesterday but it was never published, who knows why...)

Bought a second-hand Peavey V-Type EXP guitar that came with a Screamin Demon on the bridge, except it's the regular size instead of the trembucker (guitar has FR), and it's really bothering my OCD. The neck pickup is stock and I don't like it.
I thought about getting a trembucker for the bridge and move the Screamin Demon up to the neck position. My first obvious choice was to get another Screamin Demon, since I don't like much of a change in the character between neck&bridge PUs, other than the obvious change in sound related to their position. I certainly want them to have similar gain response and output level. Then, the thought of a Perpetual Burn crossed my mind... I like what I hear but I never tried it and there's nowhere to try it out where I live.

Which bridge trembucker would you pair a neck Screamin Demon with? mostly for hard rock and power/prog melodic metal. This is my fast neck, super-strat shred guitar

I haven't tried it with the Perpetual Burn but the Screamin' Demon neck is great, quite versatile and alive sounding, I also find the midrange more balanced than some other neck pickups, plenty of treble and lots of percussion. I'm sure it'll match well with all sorts of other bridge pickups.

I have it currently paired with a Dimebucker in the bridge of a Walnut Strat. The output difference is not an issue to me...awesome combo!

I also have it in the bridge with a DMZ Liquifire in the neck (a Lil Screamin Demon in the middle.) This combination is awesome!

I understand the "OCD" issue and think moving it to the neck is great as it truly is a great neck pickup IMO. I do not have any experience with the Perpetual Burn so I will leave option to those who have experience with it.

I've heard clips of someone pairing a Demon in the neck with an Alternative 8 in the bridge. Sounded just fine to me. I love the one I have in my mahogany Ibby. Sort of like the JB's nastier meaner cousin.

That is actually a good description to me–I think it does have similar characteristics/responses that I liked from the JB. I would say the JB is a tad nastier but I like that description lol

What do you think about the Screamin Demon in the Bridge? Perhaps move the current one to the neck to prevent future OCD attacks AND get a correctly spaced one for the bridge?

I use a demon with an A8 magnet in the bridge of my superstrat. I pairs great with a stock demon in the neck.

Alt 8 sounded scooped!!! You sure it was an Alt 8?! One of the great things about the Alt 8 is it's strong, full, rich mids! Anything BUT scooped.

Where's orpheo at? He has found one of the best bridge pickups to go with a Demon in the neck. He uses the PATB-3. He put a demo video up on youtube.

I have paired Demon with Alt8, Custom, and PATB-3. They all work well with Demon. I like middle position of Alt8 - Demon the most. Currently I have PATB-3 in the bridge though, because I need more dynamic pickup. So it's a matter of taste, what do you want from the bridge pickup? I don't see why PB can't work with Demon. If you want PB, just go for it.

I would put the demon in the neck with a full shred in the Bridge, the full shred is similar to a custom 5 but more articulate and defined. put a ceramic magnet in the full shred for more mids and output.
