...Or something else entirely?
In an Charvel, Basswood with 1/8 birdseye top. Playing rock. UFO to Crowes to RATT to Govan. Mainly care that there is warmth and articulation. Bridge position. There will be a Sustainer in the neck.
Let 'er rip.

Re: Screamin Demon or JB in the bridge position..

I have a Sustainer in one of my guitars and I threw an Alternative 8 in the bridge with a Triple Shot mounting ring. I'd suggest that over the JB or Screamin Demon.

The Demon will give you plenty of articulation. Warmth, not much.
The JB would be a better choice IMO.

Re: Screamin Demon or JB in the bridge position..

I vote either JB or Alternative 8. Both will work very well, IMO.

Re: Screamin Demon or JB in the bridge position..

I have both of those pickups in a couple of guitars, love the Alt8 in a Triple Shot. Was especially surprised at how much I like it split to the screw coil. I like the JB too, but I put a UOA5 in it. I found that it has opened it up much more. It's wired up to a 5 way super switch which also allows me to split it, but to the slug coil and once again a very nice sound. So I concur with the recommendations.
Would also wonder how the new Perpetual Burn might serve you.

Re: Screamin Demon or JB in the bridge position..

Thanks guys. It's a custom shop and ordered with JB, which I also have in a few others guitars and like but had been seeing the screamin demon get a lot of mention. I may try magnet swaps before hand on another guitar.

Re: Screamin Demon or JB in the bridge position..

Alt 8 for warmth and articulation. But if you want to try mag swaps on the JB first, I'd try putting in an A8 mag to increase the warmth.

The Demon is also a good choice, but there again, for that extra warmth you may want an A8 in it.

Thanks again for the info. Is addiction fx the place for mags? Also I see as many as five different lengths. Why?

A8 demon also sounds stellar when split. However, it was a little too much for me as a full humbucker.
