Take out the 6 allen screws and make the pickup have 12 slotted head screws. The sound is more full and defined. :)

Seriously, you mean allen head polepieces right?
Yes, I took the allen head poles out and put the slotted screws from my JB in.

Re: Screamin Demon

No I didn't read it right, I thought he meant slotted screws=allen heads. Sorry to bother you with my ignorance 3 cents

No worries

Re: Screamin Demon

I wonder what the reasoning behind the 6 allens/6 slotted layout was to begin with. Probably inspired by the Full Shred.

Re: Screamin Demon

I just did it! Deffinately an improvement, I don't know why I didn't think of this in the first place. My main complaint with this pickup was the wimpy split and parralell tones and the fact that I have to spend forever adjusting pickup height as well as pole height to get a good string to string balance. I'm going to have to mess with the height adjustment a little, but from what I hear right now it fattens up the over all tone of the pickup and gives a more pronounced snarl when distorted.

Send message to Seymour, THIS PICKUP DOES NOT NEED ALLEN SCREWS!

You explained it better than me :)

Re: Screamin Demon

Now, what I should do with all those allen screws. Maybe I'll put them in my JB and see if I can make someone's ears bleed!

I'm saving mine for a Hybrid I'm going to *hopefully* have completed for Christmas.
