Screaming Demon vs JB?

The piercing thing on a JB is not the "brightness" - And that is when/if it occurs (like in a Les Paul. Sometimes. Maybe)

I think of a Demon like this; All pickups in the PAF-ish class of Duncan are more "tilted" versions of a PAF...Less Bass, More highs.

59 - the standard
Tilt the EQ with a little less bass, and more highs, That's a PG
Tilt it even more, that's a Demon
Full Tilt - That's a Full Shred

Each pickup becomes more reticulate, and less goofy/boomy, and brighter as you go.

None of them are particularly hot, but the get a little spicier each level.

The '78 Model is also a PAF somewhere in between or in the ball park the Demon and Full Shred. It's like a PG with the bass rolled off.

i dont think of a demon or fs as a paf at all. seth, 59, pg, antiquity, yes

i mean... the demon isnt that high output and its bright bright. back in the day, gibson made one humbucker pup and put it neck and bridge so its not new to have similar pups in both positions

Yeah - not PAF toner, no doubt they get hotter and brighter at the same time...still, that's just how I think of them in terms of dealing with bass/treble in a guitar.

I seem to recall weren't there some Jacksons that came with dual JBs? The JB neck was just a JB bridge with the logo printed on the other bobbin.

I cannot stand one JB on a guitar, I can't imagine having two...

I hated the JB until Seymour himself told me that he designed and made the JB to act, sound, like a tele pickup but hotter and noiseless. Since then, I came to understand its tone. Jazz is like the tele neck pickup, but hotter and noiseless. I have 1 guitar, a tele, with a JB, and it's perfection.

Yeah, I've had the JB in the neck too, and it didn't work for me either. I didn't have dual JB's, though. For me, it was Black Winter/JB.

Really dark and muddy. If you try it, you kinda realized the JB isn't all that bright like many people say it is.
