Screws ate away at the wood

my friend was somewhat irresponsible with his guitar. he often opens her up for no apparent reason. He's one of those kids that opens up everything he gets his hand on. screwed up our tv remote. anyways, the screws that held the pickguard in place keep falling out. the screws have basically bored their way through all the wood in the little hole. is there any artificial filler i can use to fill the holes and rescrew it? hope u understand what I mean.

thanx

Superglue and backing soda/powder, or elmers glue and toothpicks. Or just toothpicks, it's all good.

Re: Screws ate away at the wood

Said it a thousand times, I´ll say it again:

Soak some toothpicks in wood glue or Elmers for about an hour.

Use (per hole):
1 for pickup ring screws
1-2 for pickguard screws
2-3 for strap button screws or vintage 6 point bridge screws
4-5 for trem-claw screws (Quick-Fix, Doweling preferred)
5-6 for neck screws (Quick Fix, Doweling preferred)
and soak a few extra for tighter fits, spares, or extra-stripped holes.

Push toothpicks into holes

Wait to dry

Cut of excess with sharp knife

Reinstall Part (in this case the pickguard) as if nothing happened

Keep on rocking :D

Go to Home Depot or Lowes and buy 1.99 tube of wood putty. Let it dry then redrill/screw the holes. :22:
