SD 59 esquire custom wiring help??

Hello,
Can anyone provide a diagram for an esquire with the following: SD 59 with a 4 way switch, 1 volume, and 1 tone. I want the switch to work as follows:
#1 (closest to bridge) series with no tone
#2 series with tone
#3 parallel with no tone
#4 parallel with tone

Also, any suggestions on cap values would be great. Thanks.

You can't do that with a standard 4-way. You need the red, the white, and the tone control to be switched, and you only have two "common" terminals.

Re: SD 59 esquire custom wiring help??

Any suggestions as to what I could do with a 4 way to get the most out of the 59?

Re: SD 59 esquire custom wiring help??

How about:
#1 series no tone
#2 series tone
#3 parallel tone
#4 split tone

Re: SD 59 esquire custom wiring help??

Here's the problem - the parallel wiring requires both sides of the switch, so, in regards to the tone control, you can choose between:

1. Tone control on one position.

2. Tone control on all positions. (My personal recommendation.)

3. Tone control on both series, or both parallel positions.

You can't have the tone control on a series position and a parallel position and leave it off another.

Edit: Given that limitation, a nice switching option with a single humbucker Esquire is to use a standard 3-way, and just do series/parallel/split.

OK. that makes sense. can you give me a diagram (or link up a diagram) with a 3 way switch? I already have a 4 way switch and wanted to put it to use, but I guess I will pick up a 3 way. Also, is there a big sound diference between parallel and split? maybe I should do a series/series tone/split/split tone type of thing??

Sorry . . . was late getting back to this. I'll post a diagram for both ways when I get home from work tonight.

Hey Artie. I picked up a 3 way switch, so hopefully you post a diagram for a series/parallel/split all going to the tone control. Also, do you recomend the treble bleed on the volume with a 250 pot and the SD 59? Thanks for your help.

Ooops . . . forgot about this. This gives you series/parallel/split with a 3-way.
On the left splits to the stud coil, right splits to the screw coil:

Artie, you rock. Thanks. This just solved my dilemma of how to wire up my single-bucker Esquire project.
