SD 59 Magnet swap

Greetings, a new Chapman ML2 Ltd Run arriving on Monday, stock fitted with SD59s

Now 59 are about my favourite SD bucker, but of late my ears seem to prefer A2 bridge pickups and A4 or 5 at the neck.

I do have a set of UOA5s, but was saving them for another guitar.

Anybody done an A4 or 2 mod to a 59?

A4 '59 in the neck is fantastic. fixes the boominess of the stock A5, and adds some articulation and sweetness.

never tried a UOA5 or an A2 in the bridge model, but I believe a lot of people have tried a range of mags in it, and it is quite flexible when it comes to mag swaps so go nuts. I have an A8 in my '59b, and I enjoy it muchly.

The good news is that the '59 set graciously takes almost any mag combo; all give different great, usable tone-footprints.

You just need to match the mag to the kind of tone you wanna get.

For my taste, the most useful are the following, neck and bridge, from Vintage to Modern:

* A3/UOA5
* A3/A2
* A4/A4
* UOA5/UOA5
* A4/A8

SD 59 Magnet swap

A2 59 is cool as is an A4. Right now I am running A3 59s on the neck and bridge of one of my guitars.

Pepe, thanks for the combos, but I'm really loathe to use the UO5s in this guitar, but I'm gonna start off with A4s in both b & n
