Hi fellows! Nice to speak to you)
I have an old Kramer-Grace B-6(alder body, maple neck, ebony freatboard) and I want to add some more bass(deep lows) in my sound in the bridge position.
What will do? I've already choosen some pickups: Seymour Duncan Custom TB-5 and Seymour Duncan Diablo(Rails)... but i haven't found any EQ info about Diablo.

Thanx ;) (Sorry if i've made grammar mistakes, I'm just learning English...)

THe EL Diablo ois a Custom SHop pickup, From what I understand it´s similar to a Screamin´Demon but with mondo output..... but a quick phone call or e-Mail ot teh CS can get you the info you need ;)

I've already written to MJ... no answers yet...
No, I mean Diablo, which has 22K. output.
There are 2 Diablos, first is moded Screamin' Demon, second - Rail bucker which use Scott Ian. I need EQ info about the second one.

Thanx! But I've already read it... He describes it "hot" - I haven't understand it at all. I need a pickup, which will give more bass to my sound. I need only EQ info about it... For example: SD Dimebucker - 5(bass) 6(middle) 8(treble)

The custom is fairly bright and you have alder body with maple neck like myself. I love my tb-5! And if you goign to get it a 250kpot will dampen the brightness.
What guage string do you use? Having some thicker wound strings will help with this too.

Hey Carcass!!!

I was loggin on to post a review of the Diablo when I saw your thread. How convenient!

Anyway, I had a chance to play the Diablo at NAMM this week. I was always curious about this pickup for a long time.

Anyway, I played it in a Washburn Dan Donegan MAYA guitar. Compared it directly against a Bill Lawrence XL500 bridge in a Nuno N4.

Anyway. I've always HATED the XL500's. Steely, steely shrill top end, a real nasty, gritty sounding pickup. Very harsh. In a bad way. The EQ curves on this pickup are VERY similar to the dimebucker, from what I hear, except the dimebucker is hotter.

I was expecting the Diablo to sound simliar to the XL, but to my suprise, it sounded VERY different. The Diablo is SUPER hot, yes, but its fat, thick, aggressive, and very detailed, without being harsh at all. Dare I say it, but I was actually VERY impressed in how great teh pickup sounded clean.

To describe the EQ curve. Hmm. I know this sounds crazy, but to my ears, it sounded like a louder, MUCH fatter, more aggressive Custom 5. It wasn't particularly mid-heavy like most overwounds. It had a lot of articulate, detailed, yet GREAT sounding trebles (better than the Duncan Custom). SUPER strong bass. And crunchy, thick mids. I'm sure this is due to the super-wide blade pole pieces, which look amazing.

I was having a great time rifffing out on this pickup thru a randall amp with Plexi and Boogie channels.
