sd hot rails

Guys,

Need your opinion here, I've got a nice Fender 62's Tele AVRI.
The pickups are OK, and i like them too actually.

At the moment I need humbucker equiped guitar, and just bought SD hot rails set pickups.
I used to use sd hot rails bridge, it's great pickup!

Now, I'm wondering if i should just install the sd hot rail bridge (with push-pull pot) and leave the neck fender tele single coil.
OR install the sd hot rails set (with push-pull pot)?

Thanks

Re: sd hot rails

I love guitars with humbuckers in the bridge and single coils in the neck

About to pull the trigger on one of those Blacktop Jazzmasters for that reason...

My vote says Hot Rails bridge / single coil neck.

Re: sd hot rails

will there be a 'volume jump' though?
hot rails are high output and fender tele neck pickup is rather low ouput

Re: sd hot rails

yep there will be a big difference. I used to have a tele with that set up cos i onlky used the bridge then many years later i went for a pair. A pair of rail pickups in a tele is awesome....not really what youd call vintage tele tone, but an awesome sounding axe nonetheless - especially in position 2.

Re: sd hot rails

Any idea how's the sound with the coil split?

I'm not a vintage tone freak, i'm more of a modern tone kinda guy
