SD Jazz Bridge question? Yes Jazz Bridge not neck!

I picked one of these up by accident thinking it was the neck. I did not even know they made a jazz bridge, anyway I put it in the neck of an old Ibanez rg I have and it sounds great. My question is about the direction of the pickup. I have the sd-jb in the bridge both have adjustable pole at the bottom. Do I just flip the direction of the neck pick up? Because there is going to be a polarity issue right? Second question is there a lot of difference between the jazz neck and bridge I cant find a lot about this pickup. Here is how I have it wired http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/schematics.php?schematic=2h_1v_1t_3w_1pp

I have a jazz set in my main player.

First of all to address your pup direction, yes, flip it so it is sitting in the guitar like a normal neck humbucker.

Secondly, there is a difference between the neck and bridge. They are designed with their positioning in mind. That being said, if you like how it sounds in the neck position, then you should be good to go.

The Jazz bridge is just wound a little hotter to compensate for the position it's in. Probably a little less top end and a little more output and mids.

the Jazz bridge works great in the next slot.

More than five years ago, Jazz bridge was 'default' forum suggestion for beefier tone without muddyness in neck position before the popularity of Demon in the neck.

No. The physical orientation of the pickup has nothing to do with any possible polarity issues. You can have it either way and you don't have to worry about that.

Thanks for the feedback, Has anyone heard this pickup in hss strat? I read some old posts saying it sounded great. I have a hss American standard and put a 59 custom hybrid in it. Just wondering how much different the jazz bridge would sound?

Re: SD Jazz Bridge question? Yes Jazz Bridge not neck!

Have a Jazz Bridge Model in the Neck of my USACG Maple Neck/Mahogany Body Iceman and it is literally the clearest cleanest sounding pickup I have ever heard in the neck position. Took some playing around with the height of it in relation to the JB-Custom Custom A2 Hybrid TB in the Bridge Position but, after replacing a defective Fender TBX Tone with a new one, I've been quite happy with it. I did flip mine around so that the adjustable poles are next to the end of the fretboard but apparently that's not a necessity.
