SD JB jr neck VS JB jr bridge

I bought a SD JB jr neck PU thinking it was for a bridge. Should I sell it and get the bridge PU or just use the neck in the bridge? Does anyone have experience with this?

Thanks!

I don't have any personal experience with this pickup but looking at the tone chart I think it would be safe to assume that you will get lower output then you would with the version.

Bridge versions of pickups are usually wounded more in order to compensate for the position they are placed in. They are closer to bridge so they tend to be more trebly.

Edit: welcome to the forum :)

Re: SD JB jr neck VS JB jr bridge

I bought a JB Jr. for neck position, and I really hated it. It sounded muddy, dark, completely undefinided, and the pole piece at first string was out of it´s right place, like a strat single coil, on a dead spot.
But when I installed that pickup at bridge position, I really liked the sound. Very nice crunch, good amount of gain, bass medium and high frequencies.
The neck JB Jr. is a good bridge pickup.
I suggest that you try to install it at bridge, and see what happens. May be you like it, if not, sell it.
