SD P-90 covers different than other vendors?

I just sat down with a set of "competing brand" P-90s to slap into my Edwards GT that had SD SP90-1b&n pickups in it. When I pulled the old pickups out, the new ones wouldn't fit the route without tapping them in place (not too adjustable, if you know what I mean). Also, the pickup covers were not interchangeable. The string to string spacing on the SDs were just a 32nd of an inch or so smaller.

Aren't all P-90s the same cover-wise? I've replaced more than a few pair and haven't seen a set yet that the covers weren't interchangeable on. Is it possible that SD makes a set that is smaller than the standard? Is it a metric thing for the japanese guitar market?

I bought a set of cream colored covers from Allparts because I wanted to change out the black cover on my Duncan P90. The holes for the pole pieces are spaced slightly different. Covers may be interchangeable for gibsons but Duncans and Gibsons aren't.

I think it's Seymour's way of f#cking with us. jk

The covers from my unloved Gibson P100s and SD P90 Stacks are prefectly interchangable.

How are they with P90's?
I sent the ones I have out to DLT awhile back and they didn't work for him either.

On SD P90s, the metal lip of the baseplates fouls on the corners of the cover. The options are EITHER to force the pickup in and crack the the plastic OR to cut away part of the plastic and hope that the gaps do not show.
