SD pickup booster pedal...whats the use with humbuckers?

hi,

im looking a tthe pikcup booster pedals wondering if i can get any more out or my strat with a JB bridge, and the original single coils in it and my soon to be pieced together strat with 2 humbuckers.

what would the pikcup booster do to the JB pickup being put through a visual sound jekyll & hyde and then throguh a marshall avt275?

what cna it do for me?

boost the hell out of your signal.

i use mine as a clean boost to drive either the amp or the pedal harder

is it meant for use with other pedals to boos tthe signal?

does ti jsut make it loouder or more sitorted/more fynamics?

It at least WON't make the sound more dynamic if "you boost the hell out of your signal" as Jeremy suggested. It will, as all clean boosters, make the signal more compressed and drive the amp/pedal for more overdrive. If the preamp isn't already maxed out, it will add volume too.

Yup, clean boost. I think boosts tend to work best right before the amp, do you really want to blast the input stage of the OD pedal? Maybe, but mostly it's for getting more gain out of a tube amp. I played a silverface Bassman once that was nice without, but turned into a rock beast with a clean boost in front of it!

they are great pedals, i really like mine and im thinking of getting a second.

the resonance switch works best if its first after the guitar. later in the chain it seems to do less but there is still some audible difference.

one good way to use it is just like darkside said. plug into a tube amp and boost the hell out of the signal to the front end of the amp. sounds great

another more suble way is to put it at the end of the fx chain right before the amp and use it as a lead boost. so use what ever pedals to get your sound and just use the booster to get more of it to cut thru with a solo

another way that i use it is before an overdrive pedal. i set the pedal for a medium amount of gain and use the pup booster to hit the pedal with more signal giving me more saturation from the overdrive pedal.

i plan of having one at the begining of my board and one at the end

the pup booster is a full range boost not a treble boost but in some ways does the same thing. if you but it in front of a tube amp you can get a serious gain jump. some treble boosters have a certain amount of distortion built in to them, the pup booster does not. it is a straight clean boost
