Hello guys...

i´m still finding some new pups for my bc rich... and looking at the custom but wanting more ouput i started to think about that kinda dual blade super hot pups... and i remembered the sd scott ian "el diablo", and to my surprise i read a review telling about this pup sounds pafish like a sh-5 but it is a 21K (holy....s**T!)

if this is true, i obviously want one, but which neck pup will match up well with the scott ian... another one on the neck as his old jackson signature seems to overkill, maybe a 59 to warm up the axe?

oh and btw i have read also people use to ask MJ about all this issues... so who is he/she and how can i ask MJ about the pup "real" specs and make an ordering?

thanks a lot for the help

I don't know about the pickups, but MJ is Maricela Juarez. Call the Custom Shop and talk to her about specs/ordering.

Re: SD Scott Ian and other dual blade humbuckers

You could get a custom-wound matching 'neck' position one?

If I do indeed get a new guitar, I definetely want one of those pickups though, they're badass.

Re: SD Scott Ian and other dual blade humbuckers

theres a bunch of dual blade p'ups available in the custom shop. check em out and then call the custom shop for more info.

if you are goin custom shop, im sure you could ask for a calibrated scott diablo neck p'up, or maybe a scott diablo p'up wound to 59 specs so it matches the bridge p'up cosmetically.

Re: SD Scott Ian and other dual blade humbuckers

or if you want a really bright neck PU have them wind you a SIlverbird.. same bobbins, hugely different tone ;)

Re: SD Scott Ian and other dual blade humbuckers

mmm not really a brigth pup...i really like the 59 neck pup as it is (dont care about the look, and btw i had a dime/59 and liked the looks of that set) but i really like a hotter bridge pup thant the tone zone, but i like the darker/fat sounding of this one, do the scott ian pup sounds dark?

Re: SD Scott Ian and other dual blade humbuckers

i have a custom shop pickup its an iommi/diablo hybrid. when i called and talked to MJ about what i wanted she told me there was a difference between the el diablo and the ian diablo. it is a high out put pickup but does have a pafish tone. i had mine matched with a jazz neck they worked pretty good together. the only problem was the jazz didnt have enough output haha. mine is 21.4k. MJ never told me what specs she took from each pickup but i must say its my favorite duncan that i have owned so far. if you are interested in something like that i am putting mine up for sale in the trading post in my guitar and pickups for sale thread. if i had a humbucker guitar i would keep it for sure but i dont see me getting one anytime soon.

Try the Invader if you want more output and a darker tone.

and which neck pup with the invader then? i´m really after a metal tone, but for bridge of course, i´ll use the neck pup for cleans and sweep/picking runs with distortion

btw thanks again
