you guys see this vid of the 48k slug pickup ketih morrow is testing ?

I really like the pegasus I recently got allot. think its right up there with any BKP I've tied but not really digging the tone of this one. way too much for me

Sounds like something I've been in talks with SD about... better audio at home though...

SLUG is super thick and the sustain is kind of freaky. Derek Duncan designed the pickup and he nailed it. I think there were only one or two prototypes necessary. Anyone into Sabbath will loose their minds when they play it.

Wouldn't that video fall more into the 'entertainment' category that Cathy mentioned a few weeks ago? No denying that Keith is good at what he does, but that doesn't really offer a broad overview of what the pickup can do...unless you play that style.

With that 48k output, I'm afraid this pickup might give me cancer.

It's only about twice as hot as the Dimarzio Steve Morse Neck model (which is 22k).

Then again, the Steve Morse bridge model measures at about 8k, and it's great for death metal.

It's only about twice as hot as the Dimarzio Steve Morse Neck model (which is 22k).

Then again, the Steve Morse bridge model measures at about 8k, and it's great for death metal.

dc resistance is a measure of output since... when? I played it and it's hot but not 3 times hotter than my jb/fullshred hybrid which tips in at 15.5k with an alnico 5 magnet.

Seems like an updated SH-9 Silverbird/El Diabalo. They kick out around 20-22k using Alnico II's compered to the Ceramic bars of the slug.
The Slug looks like it's also built using Tele bobbin's which was a feature of the SH-9 Silverbird.
