I put one in my latest build and was very satisfied with the social distortion tone similarities and it works great with fuzz pedals.

So are both of your pickups the Vintage model? And have you compared them to any other P90s? I love the George T. sound, so this might be just what I'm looking for.

Now you're making me miss my Special that I lost to the pawn shop.

Thank God I've still got my '65 Vibro-Champ.

These are great pickups. They work so well in many different guitars.

Yes; both of mine are "Vintage Soapbars", according to their box. Now, I believe SD calls them "Vintage P90s", but I'm certain they're the same P/U. For me, good P90s like these provide the perfect blend of thick, meaty tone combined with satisfying clarity. Countless hit songs have Guitars that sport P90s. "Johnny B. Goode", "Get off My Cloud" and "Fire Down Below" come to mind. Additionally, everything by George Thorogood. It's difficult to think of any genre not suited to the P90's sonic profile.
