Hello! Anybody compare these two pickups? I love the Choppers character but the look in a Stratocaster doesnt fit. Anybodu have any thoughts?

Injector bridge then?

The output of the yjm is way lower than the chopper's.

Re: SD YJM Bridge vs. Dimarzio Chopper

The YJM is really like a louder, quieter traditional Strat pickup. It hits the amp just a little harder than a traditional pickup, but still has that bell-like tone.

Is it louder or quieter?

No comparison. Chopper is a totally different beast. Emphasis on "beast"

YJM is a strat pickup.

The DiMarzio yjm bridge, is a middle pickup and nothing more.

The point here is that a Chopper is a PAF style double blade single slot pickup that is hotter than any single coil strat style pickup.

Yeah, it has a "Stratty" EQ if you will. But It is a balls-out type of pickup. It's a bridge pickup for a rock strat, or the neck pup for something with a SUperD/ToneZone/X2n in the bridge.

Malmsteen at the end of the day uses "Strat" sounds at pretty much Strat volumes.

Yjm has traditional strat pickup output, on the low side of that, but a somewhat darker tone and no noise.

Chopper has the output and tone of a medium output paf. It sounds fantastic in the bridge of a strat, mixes well volume wise with singles in middle and neck, and quacks nicely in parallel with the middle pickup without having to split anything. It does not, however, sound like a single coil any more than any medium output paf sounds like a single coil.

Injector bridge is a hot single coil tone without the noise. Output is well above a traditional single, but it still sounds like a strat pickup, albeit eqd for the bridge. With a .0015uf tone cap and the tone rolled down, it can nail blackmore and even approach some humbucker like tones, though tighter, and retains tracking of fast picking.

So do you want something that sounds like a strat pickup or more like a paf? Pick your poison.
