I will throw the 94 Washburn into this mix.
What it really is is a?? This is definitely not a production guitar but has a 94 SN and I got it from a guy who is like me a fan of these Grover era MG guitars. I believe it was a ether a prototype for the MG 122 or shop guitar of some kind and maybe an employee personal build but what ever it is it's a one off quite unique guitar. There is no doubt it came out of the Washburn CS in Chicago in early 1994.
This one is just different in that the colors are much more vibrant and "alive" than the production guitars were, there is no neck plate but little rings only for the neck screws no brass inserts and machine screws on the control plates, it is cut for a Strat style trem not the Wilky or Floyd and the neck is the 1st gen Grover thick profile with the big 6100 jumbos but unlike the production guitars it has a maple board ( really just a one piece maple neck ). Keeper this one has the same neck profile as your Red 122 does. When I got it it had a EMG 89 in the bridge and a 85 in the neck now it has a H60A in the neck and the original 85 is in the bridge.
Body is the Honduras Mahogany quilt drop top like a regular MG 122. She is a real tone machine and is very resonate + is a real joy to play.
Won't ever see another of these cauze there ain't one!


This photo above is the closest I could get to the real color but it still does not give you the real look. Don't know why it's so different but when you see it under stage lights in particular the way the figure in the wood pops is just amazing!

Here is my 1999 (USA pre-Washburn) Parker Midifly it is a 5 pickup guitar. HSS, Piezo and a Hex midi system. It is true midi not 13 pin so it will plug directly into any midi keyboard or device, no controller needed.

oh, I need time to take some photos. I've got a Brian May Guitar, some Rickenbackers, a Regal Mahogany Dobro, an Electric Sitar... definitely under-appreciated.

This is my beloved Swing EZ-10, ironically one of the the lowest-end (now discontinued) models of a Korean guitar company, the way she was back in 2008 when I first got her:

I bought her after falling in love with her neck and from the get go she was a project in progress. It took me about a year to get her to her first "finished" state. This is her again in 2009:

And like pretty much everyone here, the "finished" state wasn't really the end of it, I continued to tweak her and mod her and this is how she looks like about 5+ years later:

The mods I did on her in the order I remember them in (the short version however is that if it wasn't made out of wood, it was swapped-out at least once):
  • Replaced the no-name stock Floyd with a Gotoh GE1996T + posts + claw
  • Replaced ALL the electronics with two push-pulls, the Treble Bleed mod plus a new Switchcraft 3-way and output jack
  • Replaced the distressed cosmo-black knobs and 3-way tip with black ones
  • Replaced the stock tuners with Sperzel Locking ones
  • Replaced the stock locking nut with an Ebanol non-locking one
  • Replaced the stock pickups with a Suhr Dough Aldrich in the neck and a Tom Anderson H3 in the bridge
  • Replaced the stock pu rings with a combination of flat black ones from Seymour Duncan topped with thin chromed metal ones
  • Upgraded the Gotoh Floyd's block with a Big Block from FloydUpgrades
  • Upgraded the Gotoh Floyd's claw with a Tremol-No
  • Reshaped the stock trem-cover to accommodate the Tremol-No
  • Reshaped the truss-rod cover so that I would fit through the old retention bar's screws without needing to remove them (the screws are still there to cover up the screw holes)
  • Replaced the pickups AGAIN with the incredibly awesome 2013 Seymour Duncan User Group Forum Fuglybuckers!!!

I know that monetary all this makes zero sense but she still is one of my most favorite guitars and I feel that I have more than got my money's worth from the countless hours that I've played with her!!!

I like the mods....something like I am doing all the time slowly on my 'V' too. Makes zero sense to me too :)

Some serious contenders here, I've always loved Crusty's hand-built LP (although I do believe that the angle of the photo he used, although artistic, doesn't really do the guitar justice, she really is gorgeous) and Ascension's MG Prototype? Amazing, love the top and love the Maple board.

There's a great many others too but these two are what stick out for me.
