SDUG ULTIMATE AXE - Category 6; Hollow and Semi Hollow

Re: SDUG ULTIMATE AXE - Category 6; Hollow and Semi Hollow

After JeffB post. I decided to add this
This guitar is made by a local company Hobner. Most of their stuff ranges all over t he place from bad - to OK- to good. All beginners stuff. But this
particular one ROCKS, amazing neck and a great tone, all unplugged, all those who have played it say it sounds and plays nothing like the ones they have played form the same company. This guitar actually belongs to a friend, he lent it to me around 10 years back as he had to go to the Gulf. He wanted it in good hands. It's been with me since then. You cant see it much here but is has got dings on the finish and the neck is finish is worn with my play. I use this guitar about 50% of the time at church. I have learnt a lot on this guitar. My friend is truly lucky with this one, he does not wanna sell it. He sort of emotionally attached to it, it was a birthday gift by his late mom. The pickup is basic, but it does its job. I would like to put a P90 on this one. It Feedbacks like hell.. I know this is not going to make it but just wanna add it.

Yes Yes Yes my friend, I hear you and you are right, totally hideous. This brand is no less. But this guitar turned out to be a gem. I don't know how, maybe you can always find one. Over the years I must say that the top has Caved in a bit at the lower stings a the bridge, (Bridge pressure?). So the braces under the top must have given away. Its going to be more expensive repairing that, then getting a new one and most probably not worth it, except for the emotional connect my buddy has.

meh - cut a pop sickle stick to the correct height and just wedge it under there to prop the top up. Good to go.

This will likely be open for entry through the weekend.

Maybe not a winner, but worth showing: Gibson Blueshawk - Lollar P-90s, Varitone removed.

Thanks! It's my best sounding axe for sure. It doesn't play as easily as my Strat or SG, but it does give up the goods.

Man, i miss my blueshawk. Had a red one and still regret selling it to this day.

The pickguard, decorated by my little cousin.

My Cort Yorktown, "Catalina" :)
Spruce top, Maple back and sides.
Named after a friend whose nickname was Catalina... Said friend had a birth mark on her thigh, right under her butt and the guitar has a matching "birth mark" on the back towards the bottom of the guitar :)

My PRS Hollowbody II. It has a couple of SD Custom Shop Phatcats MJ wound for me. I designed them with larger slugs. I would like to think they used my idea for the Phatcats with larger slugs SD made for one of the Hammer hollowbody's a few years ago. Probably my most versatile guitar, it is light, sounds great clean, and can growl with the best of them when put into an overdriven amp.

Sorry, it's the only pic I have of my Thinline, and I'm not anywhere near the guitar right now (will not be for another two weeks).
