I am your doctor of love!
Here is the SECOND matchup headed into the finals!

It has came down to the FINAL FOUR. The most awesome axe's the SDUG has to offer up this season. The contestants were selected at random by rolling a four sided dice (former D&D player).

One of these fine, fine specimens will be competing for the honor of ULTIMATE AXE.

Without further ado....

#1 Jolly's Blue ESP Telecaster

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

And here we have two more STUNNING Specimens!

A crisp ESP Tele in a a great shade of blue. Look how smooth and perfect every line is on that. And that wood grain....

And a real time capsule guitar - all the way from 1977 an original HAmer USA in Cherryburst. Look at the subtle quilt and that slab back.

Only ONE can move on to play for the ULTIMATE AXE.

Both fantastic guitars, and both owned by fantastic forum bro's and just great human beings.

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

That ESP is one sharp looking guitar, ESPecially the wood grain on the back is overly stunning.;) But I have to say that Hamer is looking quite desirable and I don't think Gibson could have made a better guitar themselves. A 1970's Hamer is a guitar to own and have your friends drool over it.:18: I voted this Californian beauty untouchable...it's Hamer time!:smash:

The tele for me. But wow that Hamer is as Old as me.

And TWICE as cool!

Earlier it was the Big J by a few. Now it's the big G.

We got us a ball game!!!!!!

You sure you REALLY want to tangle with that Les Paul....

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

Thanks for the votes everyone. It does look like it could go to the wire.

This Hamer was built in Chicago but Hamer is a Fender Music brand now so I guess it could be called a California guitar by association. :headbang:

Hamer was originally started in Chicago? Interesting.:scratchch I believe Washburn guitars were also a Chicago-based company, if they are still today. I guess I was thinking of the Californian by Hamer. Do you own one of these beauties?

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

26 and a 1/2 Hamers and no Shredders. :headbang: No much of a Floyd player so that is pretty much why.

A Hamer Californian won the Superstrat round. The Living Dead owns it.

You own 26 and a 1/2??? What happened to the 1/2? Did you chop it in half and sell the other half?:omg: I bet there's a story behind that.;) You sure own quite a collection of Hamer's I must say. Good look on this round because it appears somewhat close at this point.:)

LD is sure a lucky soul...living or dead. Those are beauty guitars and I would love to own one some day. I bet they are hard to find these days and with Hamer going out of business, I bet they're even more sought after. There's quite a few members that own some serious looking guitarshere on this forum...I'm impressed! Is entry into the Strat round closed? I'm just getting used to this guitar beauty contest you have running here. I'm drooling with envy.:baby:

Well, you have to put the pickups somewhere. We've tried cars, trucks, boats, mounting them to guns, assorted sports gear like Lacrosse sticks a catcher's mitt, and on occasion custom kitchen cabinetry. We have found that they work best in guitars....

Have you done a search to see the Ultimate Axe polls that generated the 20 winners? Remember, the winners circle only shows the winner of ten from each category...

The 1/2 is a Hamer USA Daytona neck mated to a Late 70s Explorer body from Mighty Mite, Wayne Charvel's company at the time. It's the second one from the right.

Pickups work great on drunk blondes in a high end bars where all the lawyers hang out.;) I haven't checked out all the Axe polls like you mentioned, but I will try to figure it out. I would like to enter my guitar soon if I get a chance but I guess I'll have to wait. You have a good thing happening here...I think every guitar forum should have this kind of competition. I'm on other forums but this guitar beauty contest on this fine forum is quite eye drooling. Thanks for the tip my friend.;)

That carpet is amazing...I think it's shagalicious! And are your guitars having an orgy Ron Jeremy style...1970's porn revisted...you are tease.;) You have some amazing axes happening...I am now officially jealous.

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

Little over 12 hours to go. Jolly's ESP is a fine looking piece of Ash but Whackhead's one piece slab of Honduran Mahogany ain't ready to give in.

Go Hamer!!! :10:

Re: SDUG Ultimate Axe Finals Match TWO

about two hors to go and only two votes separate them!

I'd bite my nails if I had any. As it is, I'm gonna have a beer, eat dinner, and watch some football!
