SDUGF Collaboration Track

El Dunco

Sock Supplier to RHCP
Anyone interested? Basically a backing track is made and members of the forum take it, add a guitar lead and pass it on. I've done something similar to this on a couple of other forums.

I can make the backing track, just name a style. Or if you have a backing track or want to make one, feel free to offer.

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

sounds good!!!

how about a jazz influenced piece? not jazz per se. but a rocky jazz

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

i might be able to add depending on where my recording gear is at the time, heh.

by the way, anybody have a source for the old user group collabs we did years ago?, i think Stevo organized them, but he doesnt post anymore. I'd like to hear them again.

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

I organized a blues one about a year ago, and made the backing track for it. It was fun.

I was supposed to do a "version 2" since there were so many contributors, but that was around the time ProTools crapped out on me :(

I've since moved on ... and up ... to SONAR, and I've actually already started on a metawwwlll backing track. I just need to add bass and drums, and it will be ready for people to rip leads over. I'm out of town next week though, so you'll have to be patient if you want to use mine.

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

i have no ability in improvin over rock music. i'm out on this i guess. LOL

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

Ok folks here it is. Rock 'n' Roll at about 90bpm in the key of Dminor.

Download, add solo, post! I think everyone should get about 8-16 bars each.

Just a suggestion:

When I did the blues one, I just let everyone solo over the whole thing. I then picked the best 12 bars of each solo, trimmed away the rest, and moved the audio clips around. I think that will work well here too.

maybe i'll throw in some vocals too

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

That sounds great. I tried playing something over it, but so far I haven't been able to come up with anything worth recording.

Re: SDUGF Collaboration Track

Here is a low volume quicky I did with the 95 Swamp Ash MG 102 with a Custom A-8 in the bridge through the Prosonic no effects. I'm on the way out the door to play in a Church tonight so this is an off the cuff slop city wing it pass. Thought I would at the least start it off as no one else has posted anything.
