They are Toneful Lil' gems. :D But I think they are prone to Transformer failure? Or i should say I've never saw one with the original trannie's in working condition?

I have one, great amps. I love it. I have the original transformers in mine they work great. Only thing I have to complain about these amps is the reverb :earl:

I've got a little 5 watt 9075 combo, and I've never had any transformer problems, sweet little amp.

Every penny! Mine still has all original everything, tubes etc., and cranked, sounds like "Heartbreaker" all the way.

Yeah they are definatly worth the money. I got mine for 250 Canadian. Which is a hell of a steal.

I had a 45-50w Silvertone that had the 2 6L6s that the head fit into the cabinet- a 1x15 Jensen loaded cab. It was a cool little amp- I liked it better through my 2x12 than the 15.

I've heard of transformer issues, and the pressboard cabinet they're mounted in kind of suck. If you get them wet, they turn into oatmeal. :laugh2:

I have owned 2 1484s and still have a 1483. All original iron, all mid 60s and all screamers. I use my 1483 a bunch, been a perfect amp. Original tubes in there too.

The cabinet's do suck. A fair bit, but other than that there pretty cool.
The reason I got mine for cheap is cause the cab is wrecked looking on the out side. Doesn't matter to me, gives it more mojo.

I've been hooked on my since the first night I really tweaked it, and haven't heard anything comparible to it since then. It's definitely suited to the sounds of yesteryear. I really like how if I dime everything, I can get the most jaw dropping crunchy chords ever. They've got grit and punch, but are articulate enought to where you can hear every note. On the other hand, when you play it cranked, it's very unforgiving, because it lets everything show.:chairfall
