Second chance on a real Holy Grail for me, it's now MINE!!

In 2006 Grover Jackson contacted me about buying several of his Personal one off MG series Chicago Custom guitars from while he was running the Washburn Custom Shop. I wanted 2, but he had a set of 6 and would not sell just the 2. and I just could not afford all 6 so had to pass. They then were sold to a Washburn endorsed artist, and he just listed the very guitar from that set I wanted the most. It's a true one-off build and for me one of the ultimate 90s super Strat guitars ever built. There were a total of 80 1995 MG 132FR guitars built, but only one in this color, and It's even more unique in several ways being it was one of Grovers personal guitars. The seller listed two of that set of 6 guitars Grover offered me on reverb a few days ago. I recognized them both instantly, and we talked about the history, and as of tonight I made him an offer and now own this guitar. This particular guitar was photographed and used in the 95 Washburn catalog for Japan to represent these US premium Washburn MG series as the line flagship.

Nice! A cool story, too! It sort of looks like my Brian Moore.
The guy I bought it from was close with Grover and was endorsed by Washburn. After I passed on that 6 guitar lot, he bought them directly from Grover. This was not a production guitar, but one of the guitars Grover Jackson had built for himself while he was running that Custom Shop in Chicago. It was also used in the Japan Washburn catalog to represent the flagship guitars from the US custom shop at the time. These guitars are also the only MG series guitars I know of that were fretted with stainless frets. Super cool guy I bought it from who now has RA and is struggling to keep playing. That was why he is selling off many of his collection.
He also has another of these guitars up on Reverb that is equally special out of that same set of 6. Someone who really understands how good these guitars are needs to grab the other one. He offered to sell me both as a package deal BTW and I considered it.
This guitar he still has listed is also a real killer and IMO is priced way below what it is really worth. He also will deal a little.

Finally got time to really clean it up some and get a good coat of wax on this one. Still have not had time to pull the strings polish the frets and get some oil back in this fret board. It's rosewood but is so dry it almost looks like maple. This is the second one of these guitars I have gotten like this with a super dry bleached fretboard. The board on this one is Brazilian and after I hit it with a couple coats of Fret Doctor will have that deep red color again. If it does what it did to the last one of these it will also change the tone noticeably. Will get warmer and rounder and less plinky. Check out these quick phone photos as this thing is absolutely STUNNING!! It also plays and sounds as good as it looks and will get better after I really tweak it like I want it. Wish I could buy the othe MG 130 FR he has FS now as these are really something special. The seller offered me a package deal. This is the other one its really a MG 130. ⚠️ 1995 Washburn USA MG-142FR in Natural Clear finish over 5A Flame Maple Top!
