Second Helping of Pancakes

Here are a few more pix. Notice how thin the neck is. I don't play very many like this and that's one reason I like her so much. Even my '60 RI doesn't have a neck this thin. Of course maybe that's why the neck snapped when it fell off the guitar stand. When it happened I stopped playing and just stood there staring at it trying to comprehend what had just happened. It didn't really hit me until I got her home. Then I cried like a baby. I didn't think I could find anybody in the world who could put her back together again but I did. Unfortunately he passed away several years ago or else I would have already had the route fixed.

Check out the custom handle on the case. I made sure to show the pancake for those people who have never seen one.

I could imagine that's a player!!!! Obviously, pix are in order when you get it back.... How cool is that? You are going to rock on an axe repaired by Dan Erlwine!!! THAT's owning history...

BTW, I'll trade you a piece of moonrock for your guitar!!!

AND I'll throw in a piece of the Berlin Wall just for good measures!!!

LOL!

Thanks for sharing,
Allen

I'm going to ask Dan to put a little bit of his signature on it or in it somewhere.

Re: Second Helping of Pancakes

You should have him take a photo of him holding it before and after, lol holding a newspaper to show the date.

I would've cried too if that happened to any one of my guitars. The look of it makes me wish I could just reach through the monitor, grab it and start playing some Duece on it. :D That's the kind of Les Paul I'd love to own or have mine become.

Ace Frehley was the reason why I got a cherry burst custom. Oh by the way "Deuce" has been played on it so many times I think it could play by itself.

Kahler rout...

Ouch.
Don't think of it in terms of Ouch... think of it as a possible Bad Coconuts candidate...:13:

OldSchool, what do you think? Put the Kahler back in, add a black guard and route a second, yet smaller, cutaway on the bass side. You know you want too... (private joke with TGB :laugh2: )

Kahler? Now I don't know what that is. A tremolo?

Yes. Chalk it up to those crazy daze of metal mayhem and an irrational, illogical 20 year old and you have the recipe for a whammy paul. The 80s were a blur to me. I rarely ever saw the daylight.
