see-through bobbins?

Is there such a thing as see-through or transparent bobbins? I think it would be neat to see the core of the pup with the wound wire.

...or is that a :wrf: question?

Yes, like that. Thanks Matt for making that request "clear" for me. I like that Crystal Planet axe. You can see the whole anatomy of the inner workings of the guitar! I wonder how it sounds?

I would imagine it sounds like crap, I don't think acrylic plastic can sustain clear tones like woods, but maybe I'm wrong. If it was loaded with EMGs then maybe it would sound decent. I'd like to play around with one of these anyway.

I didn't mind the BC Rich acrylics for show axes ... but 2 issues.


They sound lifeless to my ears.

They're quite heavy ... if they're not heavier than an overheight Les Paul, they're close
