seeking Jazz pickup wreckomendations

So, I have recently come into possession of a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz (natural finish, maple fretboard), a Squier Standard Jazz (black w/ white pickguard), and the neck from a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Fretless (lined "Ebanol" fretboard).

The idea is to part together a Squier Geddy Lee Signatureless Model by moving the VM's neck to the Std body and adding a Bada** II bridge and black skirt knobs. Then the VM-Fretless neck will go on the VM body.

If I wanted to upgrade the pickups at the same time, which would you suggest I consider? For the not-a-Geddy, I wouldn't mind a sound somewhere between Rush's "Stick It Out" and Yes' "Heart of the Sunrise". (Who would mind, right?) As for the fretless, I'm aiming for a Franklin / Mendoza /Blue Murder /Sykes rockish tone more than a traditional jazz sound.

Dunno about the fretted, but the fretless would get a pair of QP's or Hot Stacks if it were mine.

I've read up on the QPs and they sound like they're bound to sound good in one bass or the other, so I'll definitely pick up a set. As for the Hot Stacks, is noise more of an issue with a fretless? This'll be my first.

Noise isn't a huge issue for me with any bass, it's just that with fretless, I've found that I like having plenty of mids and treble. The HS' and QP's, while being thick sounding pickups, also have a pretty detailed high end. This helps a fretless cut through a bit better.
