Selector Switch Question

I'm re-wiring my Ultra Strat to a more conventional switching configuration. My problem is that all the diagrams I'm finding show 8 lugs on the 5-way selector switches, while my 5-way has 10 lugs. How does the 10 lug switch correspond to an 8 lug, do I ignor the outside two lugs? Thanks!

Maybe save yourself some time and the brain drain and just get a new 5 way switch? Lew

I was just about to suggest approximately the same thing.

Captain; A couple other things to consider:

If you don't have one already, a cheap meter is a great tool to have anytime you're going to mess about inside a guitar. It will give you instant answers to questions like this.

The other thing to double-check is - take a real close look at the switch again, and make absolutely certain that you're not mistaking some oddball mounting lug, or something, for an actual terminal. Having 10 lugs on a 5-way switch is definitely a bit unusual.
