Semi-Hollow Electronics Upgrade Question

I'm looking to upgrade the electronics in my Sheraton II (with an AIIPro neck and PG bridge). Looking for a complete and reletively easy option, I came across these two pre-wired kits: http://store.rsguitarworks.net/Electronic+Pre-Wired+Kits/PWVINT335.html and http://bcsguitars.com/?page_id=2760 .

They seem to have quite a few similarities, but one is $70 and one is $192. Anyone care to weigh in on the relative merits of each and why the high cost differential? I don't have the guitar technical background to judge them. Thanks in advance.

Steve IMHO it would be in your best interest to take your guitar to a tech & have the wiring done. If you have never been inside a 335(Sheraton) it can be a nasty job. You have to do everything through the F holes. and the pickup holes. Not easy to say the least. You also have to do it without damaging the solder joints. A good trick is to rewire everything on a template made of cardboard. Place the holes exactly where they are on the guitar in the template. This way you know everything will fit. Then you just have to snake everything into position. Easier said then done. I took mine to a tech. worth every penny!

I don't think you need any special harness or wiring, just use quality wire & a really solid solder joint.

Appreciate the suggestion. Any idea on how uch a complete replacement of the electronics (except pickups) would cost from a pro tech?

Brown’s custom shop 'VESK-1’ with Bourns mini pots (Sorry audio taper only) are the way to go.
