Re: Semi Hollow NGD

And it's really strange to see people turning on your gearswapping like this. My uncle is a self-made businessman, he's retired from owning car companies now, but he still plays the sale/resale game for fun now. The result? Every time I visit him he has another high end car, Ferrarris, Lambos, BMWs, Benz and more. Every couple of months he buys a new toy, figures out where and when to sell it for profit, drives it out to a new owner, picks up a new toy with the money. My uncle has gotten to drive more luxury cars around town in the last 10 years than most of us will see in our lives, and it's totally awesome.

They say "it's better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all", but I'm not sure I agree with that. I really don't care for the "lost" part of that deal. When it comes to guitars, I'm an enthusiastic polygamist. I'd probably keep all my old cars too, if not for the limited driveway/garage space.

Re: Semi Hollow NGD

I would imagine the OP wants to recoup some of the shipping fees and leave himself some room for negotiation.

Re: Semi Hollow NGD

Maybe the op upgraded the pots/wiring harness/whatever. Its uncool to try and torpedo somebody's sale.

There is a great Al Pacino quote in Glengarry Glen Ross about this. Unfortunately due to the language in the quote I can't post it here. But it comes down to if you are not involved in a sale you should not insert yourself into the situation.

Re: Semi Hollow NGD

Why even bother with this ****! Just put up the damned for sale ad already and be done with it.
DONE!
Thats a really sweet guitar, I'm jealous!

So rather than focusing on whether Brent views his guitars as 'keepers', or what he'll use them for, why don't we approach it with 'look how many sweet guitars he gets to play in a year'? I think he's a lucky dude.
Point missed.

I'm pretty sure Brentrocks is a used heritage dealer, and not just someone doing it for fun.

And if that's the case, it's akin to guitar center posting a forum thread every time they want to promote a particular product.

To his credit, the "for sale" post is in the trading section, but he's not forthright about the frequency of his trades. And if he is making a profit, it can't be more than $100 at best. Although, he says "GAS is a terrible thing to waste", I think he has to be reminded that it's "A" for "acquisition", it's not a "T" for "trade".

Re: Semi Hollow NGD

Thank God the guitar forum police have shown up en masse to make sure Brent knows it is not OK to buy and sell guitars as he sees fit with his own money.

Oh come to the rescue! It's just that every single NGD thread he's ever posted has turned into a for sale thread. We like just giving some crap for it.
