There's two sides to that. A semi-hollow strat body without any holes will give you that airey quality without having to worry about feedback from amplifiers. On the other hand, the holes helps the tone project more unplugged IMHO.
A friend has one of those bodies from Warmoth, but you dont know it's hollow, you know? The body weighs in at almost 4 pounds, and the thing has some fat tone. You could put the most anemic pickups in there, and they'd sound beefy.
