semihollow teles vs. solid ones

Can somebody run down the tonal differences? I've played solids and I founda cool semihollow on the net but I can't play one...I'm looking for a non-humbucker rock/punk/ska guitar (I already have several Les Pauls and want a new flavor.) Would a semihollow work? They look so cool...and what would be good pickups that would let me play rock yet still have a non-humbucking vibe?

Re: semihollow teles vs. solid ones

They're very cool...just ask Keith Richards. And the diff in tone is just the usual diff between a solid body and a semi acoustic...you know what that is! The semi acoustic will sound a little warmer, less bright, and, well...more acoustic! If you get a Fender USA Tele, the pickups should be fine...but a set of Duncan Antiquitys, Jerry Donahue Tele lead & Nocaster neck or Fralin Blues Specials are my three favorite sets of vintage style Tele pickups as of this writing.
