It's perfectly serviceable, and might even be a better match in output do the DD, but oddly enough it doesn't "do" anything for me. I personally prefer the 59 over it, more character/depth.

I thought the Sentient 7 was kinda blah. Nothing that I strongly disliked, but it didn't stand out in any particular way. The only other Duncan I have experience with at the neck is the Full Shred neck, and I like that much better. It seems more present and fits its namesake pretty well.
I have a sentient on my mahogany tele. Had a jazz in there before. A 59n was in there before that.
The sentient does not have the boom the 59 can have in some guitars, and it doesn't have the sizzle of the jazz. So smack in the middle like advertised... I like the sentient more than the 59 for the guitar it's in now, but could go either way with jazz vs sentient.
