I want to run a Pegasus bridge but wondering which would pair better in the neck. I'm looking for more classic lower output tones in the neck, with an EQ that would be similar to the Pegasus.. so that switching between them wouldn't suddenly be too bright or too boomy etc. The Sentient is sold as a set with the Pegasus, but I've had a hard time figuring out what it's EQ is like? The cosmetics would match a bit better, but I'm not sure how to think of the sound of it compared to a Pearly Gates?
Does anyone have experience with both? In terms of how they compare directly with each other in terms of the output/treble/bass response etc? The Duncan website has the EQ very similar to each other, but I think when hearing them in the guitar itself, it's a lot different to a picture with 3 EQ bars.
And I also wonder if you put an A5 into the Pearly Gates, how close to the Sentient it would be?
This would be for a 24 fret superstrat style guitar so the neck pickup is an inch closer to the bridge.
