Re: series/parallel/phase wiring with on-on-on mini toggle
Hi beaubrummels, hi all,
I know this post is old, but I have trouble fully understanding the "Serie/Split/Parallel with on/on/on mini toggle" wiring diagram that you pointed (i.e.
https://docs.google.com/gview?embed.../uploads/2016/05/WD_Pushpull_minitoggle_3.pdf ).
I only understand 2 out of 3 "on" positions: I cannot figure out what would be connected with what in the third "on" position, and anyway, how this would correspond to the "split" wiring, described here:
https://docs.google.com/gview?embed...content/uploads/2016/05/WD_Coil_Splitting.pdf , i.e one coil’s start and finish being connected together (coil short-circuit) and to ground.
In the case of this wiring diagram, I think that this means that red and green shall be connected.
Could you help me understand?
So if we start with the “Serie/Split/Parallel with on/on/on mini toggle” diagram that I copy pasted and on which I added letters:
I understand that one "on" position of the toggle connects C-E and D-F. This is the “Parallel” wiring.
Another "on" position connects D-B (and C-A, but ignore), such that C and D are connected. This is the "Serie" wiring.
But what is the third "on" position, then? If it’s just the "neutral connection" (no letters connected together) then it’s not a "Split" wiring (and this would correspond to a "off" toggle position not a "on" anyway).
So: is the the third "on" connecting A-E and B-F? This would short-circuit the north coil and connect it to "hot" output, but red/south finish will stay unconnected, so we won’t have any signal...
All letters connected together? This would short-circuit everything...
No, really, I don’t get it.
Thanks in advance for any help!
By the way: any pointers to a where to buy a "on/on/on mini toggle"? I didn’t find any. It's easy to find on/off/on toggle, but on/on/on … Thanks!
