Set up my friend's '70's ibanez AR

I put a GFS A2 classic in the neck and a UOA5 PG+ in the bridge with no cover. I also put some orange drops in it. Sounds like sex and feels like a les paul.

I would rather it feel like sex and sound like a Les Paul, but that's just me.

Sweet! Those old ARs can sound pretty meaty for sure. Make sure you hang onto the stock pups, though, assuming that's what you took out.

^^ Didn't the lower end models have V2 and upper end Super 58? I suppose it would depend on what year as well.

Regardless of which particular variant, the 70s and 80s Artists are hard to beat for a mahogany, 2hb, hardtail type.

It sounds great now, but the stock pickups were garbage. lol they were 7.6k with HUGE ceramic magnets. Sounded like total muddy boominess.

i had an atist. why the hell did i trade it for a telecaster again? Great axes - and yeh - keep the stock pickups.
