Seth vs ALNICO Pro II vs Slash

Out of these Seymour Duncan A2 pickups, which in order are the brightest? I’ve always been curious about the ALNICO Pro II humbuckers, but interested to see how they compare to the other two sets. I am only familiar with the Seth Lovers.

Depends. Slash bridge and neck are different.

In general I'd say Seth is brightest, followed by Slash, followed by A2P. But they are different output and different tone profiles. It's not like the same pickup with more or less treble. Just being A2 doesn't tell you much. The wind can change everything, for example I would have never believed a Pearly Gates was an A2 pickup if someone hadn't told me.

yes same for me with the Pearly Gates (and High Voltage)

I need your advice then, I obviously have another thread about some other pickups, but I just saw that I can get a set of ALNICO II Pro pickups for $145 new. I have two sets of Seth’s and would like some variety. Is it worth trying or just keep trucking and look elsewhere? I like the idea of being able to coil split/parallel all that. And even though I do complain about some of the bassy qualities of A2, I love them in the bridge, and will be upgrading my wiring from 300k volume pots to 500k.

I ordered them! It’s funny how price changes can make you consider things lol. I am looking forward to having something I can split and that is wax potted, with a little more aggression. I’ll still have a set of Seth’s around and I really like the “roundness” of ALNICO II I realize.
