Seths or Ants for New Les Paul

Re: Seths or Ants for New Les Paul

Throw that Slash set you have in there. ;)

If not those, I would probably say Seths.

You know Im not just the biggest slash fan but I was gonna use those for like a slash tribute guitar as they do sound great! They were my favs before I found pearly gates. I think Ill find me a nice looking epi standard for cheap and make it a slash afd copy out of it and those pups!

No need to be a fan at all really. Just great pickups, at least I know the neck is. I'm glad I snagged one. Man, what an awesome tone.

By the way ErikH did you get yourself one of the aph2 pro's yet and if so how are you liking it?

Yes, I did. Got the neck model and I love it. See review thread.

I like lower output sethN in the bridge, it's a nice option if you want twangy, tighter than tele but just as bright.

Antiquity Humbuckers in my Les Paul is just a beautiful sound...fat and round with a cutting edge and great harmonic overtones...just amazing.

Seth's are great too but for me Ants all the way.

Re: Seths or Ants for New Les Paul

Remember that thread I started back when askinmg if the Antiquity is just a Dun -aged Seth?
I wish I could find that. IIRC the answer was 'no', they are different. I'm more interested in that now, because I might actually order a Custom shop Dun-aged Seth instead of an Ant.

Would love to try the Ants...Just never shelled out the extra cash for them..I Know they are great...And then I'd end up swapping magnets! :naughty::scratchch:sad:

Thats really something to consider, especially since I know from your trader postings you've been through some really highly desirable "PAF's".

Alot of us have been...And alot of magnet swapping...In 04 I even wrote the magnet swapping tutorial that is still in The Vault...I have slowed down almost to a halt with it though....Been playing alot more and less of that soughta thing.

I think my lead playing has moved up another notch via alot of practice/playing..
