Seth's V Rio BBQ set

I have a chance of a pair of nearly new Seth Lovers, at the moment I have a Rio Grande Texas BBQ set in my guitar, I like 'em, but I also like what I hear of the Seths, could I have opinions please, My guitar is a custom made, mahogany/maple ebony board. My music is blues based.

Thanks in advance,

Jon

Wow...two completely different pickups! It depends on what you want. The BBQ/Texas are the more powerful set but the Seths really sing and spank. Overwound Alnico 5 in the Rios and vintage spec Alnico 2 in the Seths. I put a BBQ bucker in my HM strat and didn't like it until I spent the weekend tweaking it. Now I love it. You wont get the Bass from the Seths you do from the Rio...but I can't tell which you would like better. Like an apple or orange:two timeless classic...equally popular-very different tastes.

Many thanks for the reply, I have a set of Seths coming, so I will let you know what I think.
You say you 'tweaked' the rio's, can I ask how/what you did?

Re: Seth's V Rio BBQ set

I had to lower it a tad more than usual and raise the screw coils. It's sounds real good like that. There's still a bit too much bass but I think swithching the three fat strings to .10s will help.
